Accommodation in New Zealand for the 2011 Rugby Union World Cup

Accommodation in NZVisit New Zealand for the 2011 Rugby Union World Cup and support the Wallabies (on current form they will need it!).

A couple of Kiwi Rugby guys have set up a website (www.stayinnz.com) listing rental accommodation in New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup next year (2011).

The site is based around helping overseas visitors experience a bit of Kiwi hospitality through staying with a Kiwi family, or renting a Kiwi home for the World Cup.

ARU National Talent Identification Program

The development and implementation of a national talent identification and recruitment program for rugby union has been identified as a key element within the design of the Australian Rugby Union’s (ARU) High Performance Player Pathway and the game’s ability to provide high level access to as many players as possible. The development of the program will allow Australian Rugby to differentiate and dominate on the back of prioritized factors of competition.

See the attached ARU document.

Colts tour to Canberra

The Harlequin Colts tour started well with most of the boys arriving on time at Melbourne airport for a 7.15am check-in on Friday morning. Sporting the new polo shirts the team looked cohesive and relaxed. After arriving in Canberra we had a light training run followed by lunch back at the accommodation. The accommodation worked well with five guys per room and everyone getting on well over the course of the tour. Transportation for the whole weekend was via minibus driven by Jeff Cornford who deserves huge thanks. The afternoon before the first game was taken up with a team meeting and game preparation including rubs and strapping.

Bendigo tour - 27th March, 2010

A total of 32 Quins journeyed up the Calder Highway on Saturday 27th March to take on Bendigo as part of our pre-season program. The weekend proved to be an outstanding success with Bendigo proving to be great hosts and some good rugby having been played.
