Not a good day, 1st Grade got towelled up 39-12 and we lost all Grades on the final match of the normal season with 2nd Grade and Colts losing tight ones and 3rd Grade also getting a bit of a belting.

The guys were focused on a big game, but a good Melbourne team and some lapses in concentration by ourselves saw Melbourne easily win and take 2nd spot. Melbourne had the possession early and kicked a long range penalty to lead 3-0. Some good attacking work saw our Irish 10 dart through the line from 25m out to score and convert for a 7-3 lead. From the kickoff we spilled the ball and Melbourne regained possession to score immediately. Melbourne scored again soon afterwards to lead 15-7 going close to half time, and then from within their own half Melbourne took a quick tap and attacked our short side to score a 60m try to have the score at 20-7 at the half.

The 2nd half started strongly with us dominating field position and Tom Egan getting over the line to have the game at 20-12, then 2 kicks of the ball took the wind out of our sails. A 45m penalty goal was followed by a 45m drop goal from the Melbourne 10, making the score 26-12 and the guys started to drop away from this point letting in 2 further tries and a penalty goal.
