Quins lost 23-25 to Box Hill in a game where the team really never got out of first gear and took some poor options.

The 1st half was a pedestrian affair – at times we looked like we would blow them away, at other times we looked disinterested and couldn’t wait for the game to end. 2 penalties had us at a 6-0 lead, before sustained pressure from Box Hill saw them score to take a 7-6 lead before we scored on halftime to have a 11-7 lead at the half. The guys in general were watching, and not doing.

Box Hill scored twice after the half to go to a 17-11 lead, but the guys fought back as they have done every time this year. A charge down try to Tom Egan was then followed by a lucky try to Pana Ravouvou that had us 23-17 ahead. Box Hill scored out wide with 3 minutes to play and missed the conversion to have us still 23-22 ahead. From the kickoff Box Hill worked the ball down field and with 90 seconds remaining gained a penalty in front of the posts to win the game 25-23.

The loss has dropped us to 3rd place – in essence we start finals a week early against Melbourne this week. A win will probably have us finish 2nd and a Major Semi at Souths. A loss will have us finish in 4th place and a knockout semi at Power House. It is all ahead of us to do.
