Johnny Wiseman invited to play with Nairobi Quins

Peter (Cowboy) Williams rang me recently with some news that I feel could be of interest to club members.

It appears that Johnny, whilst in Hong Kong on a rugby tour, fell head over heels in love with a rather smart African lady. Full approval was given by his mentor Braizy and Cowboy concurred. We are assured that all four were sober? This resulted in a visit to the afformentioned lady in her African home town and various exploits are alleged to have taken place and we look forward to hearing about them at the Saturday luncheon on 2nd May.

In addition, acting as the Quins Australian ambassador, Cowboy visited the Nairobi Harlequins. Not suprisingly they had heard about the mighty Melbourne Harlequins Colts era of the late 60`s thru mid 70`s and Johnny`s heroic exploits as the kamakase number 6 in particular. Therefore there was talk about making him a life member if he would don the navy overalls that they use locally as rugby tops and show them how fearless an Aussie rugby breakaway operates. Not suprisingly, he had to decline the kind offer, not just because he had forked out a fortune on new teeth (a new girlfriend does that to a man) but they had failed to ply him with copius quantities of refreshment and a decent smoke.  Johnny has safely returned home having by passed quarantine checks and assured his mates he is now on the straight and narrow.

Of major importance is that he boasts that he has photographic records of his visit to the Nairobi Quins. Cowboy has agreed to scan these and get more information to us. As soon as your correspondent receives the photographic evidence it will be displayed on the website for all to see.
