Quins sunk by late drop goal
A drop goal to Box Hill on the siren committed the 1st Grade team to their 5th loss in a row, losing 31-34. Quins looked to have won the match 10mins before time when an intercept try to Marty Foreman gave Quins the lead 31-24 with under 10 minutes remaining. But a poor kick off receive allowed Box Hill to score directly off the kickoff and a sideline conversion to draw the game and then the late drop goal to pinch it.
2nd Grade had a big win against an obviously undermanned Box Hill team 86-12 with 3 players scoring hat tricks in Michael Shadbolt, Emil Vartarazarian and Shaun Samarnayake. 3rd Grade went down to what seemed a very strong Box Hill 3rd Grade team 46-17.
The Colts continued on their winning way with a hard fought 46-24 win at Souther Districts. For the 2nd game in a row the boys found themselves down in the 2nd half at 24-22 before they came steaming home.
